We’ve seen many nature-inspired designs, and here’s one more item inspired by nature and even ecological situation in the world.

A light bulb went off in the minds of 3 designers: Mitja Schneehage, Michael Wilde & Sofia Christidou. The idea was that it’s time to rethink the light bulb. Designed as a reminder that we are destroying 78 million acres of our rainforests every year, part of this new lightbulb design is actually manufactured from charcoal taken from burned rainforest. It’s a beautiful yet bittersweet reminder that we must do something to protect these climate stabilizing lands from destruction.

Called the Light of Hope, this lamp can be a bold statement in any modern dwelling and it’s a must for those who think eco-friendly. It’s not just a modern eye-catchy lamp, it’s an installation that makes us think of the future. Though being rather moody and reminding of the scary future, it’s still a light of hope that makes us think that everything will be fine.
